While meeting with a potential client earlier this week, I was asked what I really love to do. As someone who has often been in a one-stop-development-shop, I have done nearly every area of fundraising. But just like most people I have preferences and strengths.
After reflecting on this question a bit, I can confidently say that I love coming into an organization to analyze their current fundraising efforts, find areas of opportunities, and design a comprehensive fund development program. As a friend recently commented, I’m the “nonprofit fixer.”
I hope I can live up to that title because I see the good that organizations can achieve with the right strategies and support.
Where do you see areas of opportunities in your fund development program?
